Copies of deeds
Posted on January 18, 2008 by LuAnn Farrar
I recently purchased a home in Lexington, and soon received a letter from the National Deed Service offering to provide for me a copy of my deed. The cost is $59.50. Do I need this?
According to the Fayette County Clerk staff, the public can make a photocopy of deeds for 50 cents a page, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday at the Fayette County Clerk office, 162 E. Main. The Land Records office is on the first floor.

My mother was a public school librarian. I earned a bachelor’s degree in music and a master’s degree in library and information science from the University of Kentucky. The Herald-Leader hired me as a news assistant 25 years ago; soon after, I moved to the news research department, where I’ve been ever since. We used to clip newspapers. Now, almost all of our research is online. We've come a long way.
looking for a poster size copy of any deed to frame in my office. If you can help me, I would appreciate it.
