A Newer New Circle Road?
Posted on November 1, 2007 by admin
Question: Does the city have plans for an new outer loop around the furthest edges of town similar to New Circle Road to improve traffic flow in our city? The bottle neck from Richmond Road to Winchester on New Circle really slows traffic to a crawl.
Answer: A spokesman for the State Transportation Cabinet says there is no mention in the state’s six-year plan for a new traffic loop around Lexington. Citation and Man O’ War Boulevards were built to ease traffic in the city. But as far as a new traffic loop, it isn’t going to happen any time in the near future.

My mother was a public school librarian. I earned a bachelor’s degree in music and a master’s degree in library and information science from the University of Kentucky. The Herald-Leader hired me as a news assistant 25 years ago; soon after, I moved to the news research department, where I’ve been ever since. We used to clip newspapers. Now, almost all of our research is online. We've come a long way.
