Which way to Nicholsville Road?

Question: Who is responsible for this misspelled sign beside TGI Fridays near Fayette Mall at Rojay Drive. It has been there for at least a month. Thanks
Cindy
Answer: The stop sign with a sign beneath pointing the way to “Nicholsville” Road is mispelled on both sides, according to a city traffic engineer who went out and actually looked at the sign. The traffic department also said that several feet back from this stop sign is another sign that proclaims “end of city maintenance.” So the sign is not the responsibility of the city. Fayette Mall management says the sign was only recently installed and will soon be replaced.

My mother was a public school librarian. I earned a bachelor’s degree in music and a master’s degree in library and information science from the University of Kentucky. The Herald-Leader hired me as a news assistant 25 years ago; soon after, I moved to the news research department, where I’ve been ever since. We used to clip newspapers. Now, almost all of our research is online. We've come a long way.
Does the other sign actually have maintenance misspelled too?
You wrote the other sign proclaims “end of city maintainance”. That’s hilarious!!!
No the word maintenance was not misspelled on the sign.
