Recycled electronics
Rebecca A. Coleman:
What should a small business do with discarded computer equipment? I know periodically LFUCG allows households to turn in old equipment at the old Furrow’s building, but what if a person has numerous computer items to get rid of?
Perhaps this will help: It just happens that Monday, Oct. 1 through Saturday, Oct. 6 is city E-Waste recycling week. Old electronics can be dropped off the old Furrow Building, 1306 Versailles Road. The event is for residential e-waste only, and no more than three of the same type of e-waste components will be accepted per household. The LFUCG conducts e-waste recycling the first full week of January, April, July and October.

My mother was a public school librarian. I earned a bachelor’s degree in music and a master’s degree in library and information science from the University of Kentucky. The Herald-Leader hired me as a news assistant 25 years ago; soon after, I moved to the news research department, where I’ve been ever since. We used to clip newspapers. Now, almost all of our research is online. We've come a long way.
This was very timely info for me! We’ve had an old TV sitting, waiting to be disposed of for 2 weeks now b/c I didn’t know how to properly dispose of it! Thanks for the advice!
